I can only say good things about this thing. I am a student in the sound/audio field and needed a way to hookup a mic to my laptop. That being said, i don't exactly have $300 laying around to pick up an M-Box. So I heard about this little guy and decided to visit my local Guitar Center, and was a bit discouraged, they said (basically) that this was garbage and sounded terrible. But once again, I wasn't in the market for a expensive preamp and seeing as this was cheap I said oh well let's try it. The thing is AWESOME, I don't know what the Guitar Center people were talking about, I love this thing and works great with my SM57 mic. If you're a beginner, want something simple and is cheap this is a no brainer, buy this thing!

I had to decide to buy Pro tools or this. And Im a straight Beat Maker diving into the recording side. I've tested this with my AT4050/CM5 Condenser Mic against recordings from pro tool at my friends house and its astonishing just how there wasn't much of a difference. I'm glad I made this purchase as I didn't want to invest into a sound recording system that didn't require extensive knowledge. I just plug and played this sucker and worked like a charm. An incredible buy for those who just need to lay out voices or instruments without the complexity behind big names. LOVED IT!
