Description
The Ibanez V70CE dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar is an innovative instrument that combines a select spruce top, and mahogany back and sides for resonant acoustic tone with a Fishman Sonicore pickup, and Ibanez AEQ-SP2 preamp for amplified performance. The V70CE's soft cutaway provides comfortable access to higher frets, expanding its dynamic range. Now available in a striking transparent blue or sleek black finish, the V70CE is an acoustic-electric guitar that looks as good as it sounds.
Select Spruce Top and Mahogany Body Produce Rich, Balanced Tone
A select spruce top gives the V70CE a robust, balanced tone with crisp highs, warm lows and pronounced midrange. Mahogany back and sides augment the spruce top, boosting bass response and projection. Together, these tonewoods generate a full, natural acoustic voice perfect for strumming chords or intricate fingerpicking. The V70CE's dreadnought body pumps out volume to fill a room, ideal for solo or ensemble playing.
Fishman Electronics and Ibanez Preamp Provide High-Definition Plugged-in Performance
The Fishman Sonicore pickup accurately captures the V70CE's acoustic properties, relaying them with stunning realism through an amplifier or PA system. Ibanez's AEQ-SP2 preamp gives you tone shaping control, with bass, middle and treble EQ knobs to tweak frequency response. A built-in tuner ensures you're in tune before performing or recording. The V70CE delivers your acoustic tone with clarity and depth through an amplifier, ideal for gigging or recording in a studio.
Play Comfortably With a Soft Cutaway and Low Action
A soft cutaway provides comfortable access to higher frets for intricate solos or vocal accompaniment. Low, buzz-free action makes the V70CE playable right out of the case, whether you're a beginner or accomplished guitarist. The V70CE's C-shaped neck profile gives you a familiar feel, while a rosewood fretboard enhances sustain and warmth.

I Love Mine!
Been playing guitar since 1977 and most of that period was spent playing acoustics. I've had my fair share of guitars through the years. I had an Ibanez Concord with mother of pearl in-lay in 1982 that I loved. Recently, I found myself in dire need of a decent, cheap acoustic since I'm low on funds and this economy isn't helping. So my daughters and grandson bought me a Guitar Center Gift card and I thought I would try the blue V70CE. Got it 4 days later in a box within a box. Guitar was in great shape and looks beautiful. I tuned it up and it tunes nice. Got to playing it right away and was extremely happy. Two small qualms. One is the action is a hair high, which is a little tough coming from a strat to a heavier stringed acoustic, but I've already adjusted and I'm not noticing too much of a problem any more. The 2nd thing is the strap buttons are a little too low profile which makes it hard to get beefier straps to go on all the way. But, I'm going to either buy taller ones or find a thin strap that will work. No biggie for me. So, the real skinny is, I love the sound both acoustically and electronically. It has a real nice deep tone that my Brother's $600.00 Takamine doesn't have. The structural integrity of the guitar seems solid, thus the deeper tones. I'm impressed by this non-pricey Ibanez. I don't know about some of the reviews I've read about string buzz and dead sound. But those are always classic cases of any acoustic that has old strings or has been abused in some way. I am a big believer in keeping an instrument in a hardshell case, out of harms way, like say, someone cleaning a room and knocking it over thus cracking the neck. I've actually knocked an old Hohner over and cracked the neck myself. I've also pounded and banged on guitars playing them too hard until the intonation, action and acoustics were beat, and I finally figured out how to take care of them. So, let's not be too hasty in blaming the manufacturer or the store for something that we may have done to our own instrument. Just sayin'! I Love Mine!!!!

Good starter guitar
If your looking for your first acoustic, this is good for the money. The action/playablitiy is tough but good for finger muscles. It is not a fast guitar. Suited best for some hard strumming basic chord songs. If you want to play the blues, pass on this one and spend the extra money on something faster.

Great beginner guitar

I bought this guitar around 2008 and it was my primary guitar for years. It WILL need a setup after it's bought, but that's normal for acoustics, especially in this price range. This guitar is a tank that can take a lot of abuse from a teenager/ young adult playing out with it

I am new at guitar and I am finding that the V70CE Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar is fun to to learn how to play with. The action feels nice and strings that came with the guitar were pretty decent as well. Would highly recommend for anyone embarking on their guitar journey.

I been looking for a few weeks and had played a ton in the Acoustic room on Powell Ave GC. I just needed something I could grab in a moment and kick around. Electric is my gig. You have to look at 2 or three to get the action you want so get a few out the back. It's a win! Love it!!

I'm a novice at best. The guitar is what you would expect for the price. Not a lot of pressure needed to fret which is what drew me in. After taking it home, the feel of the guitar wasn't as great over a couple days. The guitar is great, but overall wasn't for me. I ended up exchanging for something more comfortable with rolled edges on the fretboard.
