perfect for Praise and Worship
I Use .10 to .47 acoustic Elixer Nanoweb 80/20 Bronze strings (not Phospher Bronze) . I tried about 7 different Gauges and sets of strings acoustic and electric. This gives me a perfect acoustic sound and a great electric tone also. Electric strings sacrifice acoustic sound and I found these acoustic strings didn't sacrifice electric sound or tone. I might add I didn't like play ability or sound of original sting. These set of 10s play much easier with the elixers. Not sure why ? they are supposed to have 10s originally. This guitar shines when using both signals separate and is perfect in a solo act. Will never replace a great acoustic or a great electric used by themselves. I play Modern praise and worship rock. I run acoustic Jack to PA and Electric Jack through a Zoom G3X into the PA. I get a huge sound. I use the volume pedal on my electric sound in the G3x set as the amp Gain and its perfect. I bring in the Gain on the pedal as needed for more of a rock sound. All I can say is WOW. Play ability is more like an acoustic with light gauge stings on it. I'm use to high end acoustics and electrics. It wont play like a fine electric but is defiantly easier on the hands than most acoustics out there. Over all a set of new strings and a little tweaking with how your set up and its amazing.

Would not buy this product again.
I purchased this guitar based on all the great reviews. I expected a guitar that I could play and get an acoustic and electric sound and the A6 has it. However, after the first five frets the play ability is that of a very cheep instrument. The strings are so far away from the neck that it is impossible to even to get clear chords let alone single notes. Play ability is everything in a guitar. I know because I have been playing for almost 60yrs and I knew when I received the guitar I made a terrible mistake.

The Godin A6 really is unique. When it came to me I changed the strings and adjusted the truss rod a little to lower the action to my liking. I am really enjoying playing it now especially using the split signal (2 amps) ability for the acoustic and humbucker set up. This guitar is going to be very usefull to me and I like it. The build quality is very good.

I have had my eye on the Godin A6 Ultra for quite some time...and it always intrigued me. I have the original Seagull S6 and know the high level of craftsmanship that Godin produces out of Canada, so I expected a well-built instrument. What I did not expect was the the beautiful tone this guitar produces. The ability to split the output signal from the two pick-ups, to two different amps is AMAZING! Even unplugged, the guitar sounds great, especially when you need to practice quietly. The neck is wonderful, the finish is gorgeous and the price is unreal. I believe this guitar could sell at twice the price, considering what you get. It's great.
Everything I was expecting, and more!

I bought this to use in a duo (sometimes piano/guitar, sometimes two guitars) and it was a great choice. I actually tried a very expensive Taylor T5 Deluxe/Koa first, and this Godin A6 is better. You don't buy a guitar like this for a collector's piece. You want something to play. It's great in my duo because I run it through a pedalboard and then into my Roland AC-60 amp. It has a nice acoustic sound and we can play James Taylor, Jim Croce, or Gordon Lightfoot, then right into Allman Brothers, rocking Eagles or Eric Clapton, with nice rich leads. Sure, I have an American Professional Telecaster that is a better standalone electric guitar, and a Martin HD-28 that is a better standalone acoustic guitar -- to say the least. But this thing is actually better for a duo setup because I can play acoustic and electric, even within the same song. This is an excellent guitar for a working musician. Oh, and you will read about a thousand different opinions about the best strings and setup for this. I tried the Jazz Strings this comes with but finally settled on the Elixir bronze acoustic, 80/20, which is fine . It's important to have a decent wound g string to make the A6 work as an acoustic guitar, but the strings are still light enough to rip on some leads. There are two outputs on the guitar, one for both pickups, and one specifically designated for the humbucker. I just go the easy route and play with the output that runs both pickups, but some people use the dual output function, running one cable directly into the PA or an acoustic amp, and the humbucker output into an electric amp. I'm getting great sounds just with the dual output jack. Nice guitar.
