Vintage 'Noisless' Tele pickups are mighty fine!
Bought my '50s era American made Tele a year ago. Whilst having read about the Vintage Noisless Pickups on several websites and did not read one single bad review, I thought they would be just the thing, being as how the stock pickups sounded a little 'thin' and, well, lacking just a tad in what I wanted it (the guitar) to sound like. Whoa, Dude! I cannot believe how awsome these new pickups sound. I even put my old/new originals in my other Tele so I could directly compare them and, wow, I will never have need of the stock set again. The Vintage Noisless have much better gain, or volume, have a beautiful silky RICH overtone yet still retain the famouse Tele snarl and twang. These pickups just say 'spank!" There can be no comparison. While at it, I also added the four way switch to get the series circuit on both pickups and you talk about punch. They got it. It's like having a whole extra guitar. With these pickups one has a more verbose tonal range with which to achieve a greater array of amplifier input 'flavors' to begin with. I am completely and deleriously happy with this entire improvement. So if you be scared to spend the bucks to get these, rest assured you will not be disapointed, I mean, why are you looking for new pickups in the first place? Vintage Noisless are clearly the answer.

Buyer Beware
Bought what I thought was a new set, but bridge pickup was dead. My tech said there were a couple broken wires, and he was convinced due to evidence of old solders that they were refurbished. Of course GC wouldn't take them back since by the time my Tele build was ready, it was past the return policy date. To Fender's credit they said they would replace them, so I was willing to let the fact they sold me junk go un-posted - but since it's now coming up on two months I'm in a less forgiving mood. I was told something about being behind their production schedules - which I had to drag out of them. That and the fact I can get absolutely no estimate of when I can expect to get them prompted me to write this review. Right now, I don't know if it will be a couple more weeks, or a couple more months, or longer. I'm completely screwed unless I'm willing to drop another 160 on top of the 120 or so I'm already out, so my only option is to throw the guitar in a closet, forget about it and wait.

Same story of dead bridge pickup

I had the same story of a dead on arrival bridge pup . The most frustrating thing is , we all know it is an easy fix . The neck pickup is great but the output is rather high . Most of us wont need that . you may like the Dimarzio Tone Zone Tele bridge pup .Thats what I am using and it is also the same output , Well, a little higher . Toss the bridge , as there is some wacky wiring problem with them .
Would not recommend, bridge pickup has issues

I'm experienced with building guitars and designing electronics and both pickups were dead when I wired it them up. They also hummed like crazy. I got the neck pickup to give great output but I had to add a jumper wire that was missing in the back. The bridge pickup only ever worked at half volume and I tried every possible wiring on the output with different jumpers and eventually the pickup wires that run out to the coils gave way from being reworked so many times. Way more work than they are worth.
It sounds great! Much less noise almost identical to 52 re

I perform every weekend. This made my telecaster usable because it dropped the jarringly disruptive 60 cycle hum from my guitar playing~!
I had the same problem it seems everyone else is having .

I had the same stupid problem everyone else had . Bridge pickup was bout a 2 or 3 day rip roaring ride . Find a way to get just the neck . Or maybe just toss the bridge . Neck is well suited but it is really high output . 13 k or so .
I would not buy this again. Dead Pickups

Hi, I am building a b bender telecaster. Swamp ash body, roasted maple neck etc. It will have a 4 way obsidian switch and be used for mainly country. I am after pickups that will give that twangy punchy sound, keep clarity with some gain and it be too tinny and weak sounding. I'm looking at the following pickups and I would very much like your opinion. Preference is to stay with fender but open to options. 1. Fender Vintage Noiseless 2. Fender Ultra Vintage Noiseless (a new pickup by the sounds) 3. Fender N4 Noiseless So hard to come to an conclusive decision so an expert opinion would be great.
Give us a call at 866-498-7882 and we can get you in contact with a product specialist to help you get this add together. These pickups all sound really good. I know the standard vintage noiseless uses AlNico II magnets and the ultra noiseless uses AlNico V, that may be a factor. If you compare them all, they all sound pretty similar, one set vs the other might be a little brighter but if you have any reservations, I think you'd be fine with the ultra set, however, it is mainly a matter of personal preference.submitted5 years ago

Do you need to upgrade to 500k pots or are these designed to work with the 250k pots?
This pickup set will work well with the 250k pots.
