With the SpiderCapo you can play all the bar chords and riffs you already know, plus unlimited new chords (which is not possible with standard tuning). You can also change guitar tunings while playing, finger above and below the capo, play melodies with open string accompaniment. You can easily use the Creative Tunings SpiderCapo in live performances and explore unlimited creative possibilities, new tunings, keys, harmonies, and textures.

Love the little guy

I am an eclectic guitarist that likes a lot of options. I find that by using the spider capo, I am able to be versatile. I did have a concern that it would damage and harm my guitar, or that it would not be strong enough to hold down the strings, but it works great. I have no complaints.

Nice idea but can damage a guitar easily

When I first bought this product I was quite taken with it. My creativity took different routes than it would have with standard or various open tunings due to different string lengths.. As a pro player of 40 plus years, I have a fairly nice collection of 20+ guitars. I began to use this on my favorite acoustic, a very old Taylor, I do some light guitar restoration, use my guitars with caution and take very good care of my instruments. Imagine my shock and disappointment when I took this device off my guitar after playing with it one day to find several deep gouges in the neck. The padding at each side of the capo had either slipped out of place or compressed over use enough to allow some metal parts of the capo to dig into the wood. A nice idea that needs work - enough so as to not damage fine, valuable vintage instruments. From now on I will stay with Kyser capos and trim the rubber in them to achieve the same result without permanently damaging my guitars. I would not recommend this unless you want to use it on a beater guitar that you don't care about.

Made several songs with this thing. Let's you access chords and melodies that you never could with another capo. And this thing has lasted years. Works perfectly. Great product.

I used this on a 4 string bass. This capo is the regular size for a guitar and it also fits the standard bass guitar too. I removed 2 extra mini-capo sections as my bass is a 4 string and it still works fine.

Place the SpiderCapo on the 2nd fret. Press the D, G and B strings down to make an A chord. All the fingerings for the chords G, C, F and D work (though they will be 1 step higher). All Barre Chords and lead links still work, and you can work the key of A in amazing ways. I have found incredible uses for the SpiderCapo.

  • Not quite what I had hoped

While the capo provides quick and interesting tuning options it isn't as versatile as I had hoped. No open E tuning here. I should have read the description more closely. Can only adjust one fret at a time.
