  • New for 2019, Tama's Starclassic Walnut/Birch shell packs add a new dimension of sound to the drummer-favorite Starclassic lineup. Walnut and birch are a match made in heaven. These two tonewoods complement one another with a 6 mm shell consisting of four plies of European birch and two inner plies of American black walnut. The result is a pure, modern tone that is clear and well-defined, yet warm and round.

  • We met up with guitarist Pete Thorn at Line 6 HQ to get his first impressions and demo of the new HX Stomp Multi Effects Processor Pedal, including building presets and using the HX both with an amp and direct-recording.
  • Likely, the most subjective microphone placement in all of recording is the room mic for a drum set (or perhaps a room mic for any instrument setup for that matter).  As with any recording, the sound concept you have in mind should lead the decision making process.  In other words, what is the intent?

  • We visited the Ernie Ball Music Man factory in San Luis Obispo, California to chat with CEO and Chief Designer Sterling Ball about the new features and appointments of the Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Special and StingRay5 Special Electric Basses.
  • Launched in June, 2018, Fender's Player Series seriously ups the game on affordable, North American-built electric guitars and basses.   • The Walrus Audio Julia chorus/vibrato is a favorite for guitar players who need the ability to switch between chorus and vibrato or blend both together. The Julia can add a bit of depth to your tone with a low chorus setting or be pushed to the limits of that classic warble vibrato offers and everything in between.
  • Fender is making waves with their California Series, adding a fresh line of steel-string acoustic/electric guitars inspired by the beautiful Southern California beaches close to the Fender factory in Corona. The three body-shapes released are the Redondo, an original contoured dreadnought; the Newporter, Fender’s own mid-size concert design; and the Malibu, Fender’s original small-body design with a 24" scale length.
  • The new Fender effects pedals will add brilliant color to both your tone and your pedalboard. Concepted and designed in California, these pedals boast anodized aluminum chassis and offer unique twists on classic effects. Fender used the recognizable LED amp jewel for the “on-light” and used LED backlit knobs, making these pedals stage-ready for the gigging musician.
